Privacy Policy
Effective September 2, 2026. Applies to findacrib.com and the Find A Crib app for iPhone.
Find A Crib shows public records about New York City apartment buildings — the state's rent-stabilization register, HPD housing-code data, HUD rent estimates, advertised rents and affordable-housing lotteries. Most people use it without an account, and we collect nothing about them beyond ordinary web-server logs.
What we collect, and why
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address (and the name your Apple or Google account shares) | Only if you sign in | To create your account and sync your saved buildings across devices and the website. |
| Buildings and searches you save | When you tap the heart or save a search | To show them back to you. Saves made while signed out stay on your device only. |
| Subscription status | If you subscribe to Find A Crib Plus | To unlock Plus features. Payments are handled by Stripe or Apple; we never see your card number. |
| Web-server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) | Every visit | To keep the site running and detect abuse. Kept for a limited time and not linked to an account. |
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share personal data with data brokers or advertisers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and the iPhone app does not use the advertising identifier.
- We do not read your location. The app's map uses Apple Maps; if you choose to show your location on the map, that is handled by Apple on your device and is not sent to us.
- Building photos in the app are Apple Look Around imagery requested from Apple, not from us.
Where the data lives
Accounts and saves are stored with Supabase (hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States). Sign-in uses Apple or Google; we receive only the identity token and email they return. Subscription records come from Stripe (web) or Apple (app).
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Delete account. On the web: sign in and use Profile → Delete account, or email us. Deletion removes your account, saved buildings, saved searches and subscription record immediately and permanently.
Children
Find A Crib is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above. Material changes will be noted in the app and on the site.
