Privacy Policy
Find A Crib ("we," "us") operates the website findacrib.com, a tool for browsing NYC rent-stabilized buildings. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email divinejdavis@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (or, if you use Google Sign-In, the basic profile Google shares — name and email). We store your saved buildings, folders, and saved searches so they sync across your devices.
- Usage analytics. We log page views and in-app actions (which buildings you view, searches you run, buttons you tap) with a first-party visitor identifier stored in your browser. We do not collect your IP address for analytics. When you are signed in, these events are associated with your account.
- Payment information. If you subscribe to Find A Crib Plus, payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number; we store only your subscription status.
How we use it
- To provide the service — saving buildings, syncing across devices, and (for Plus members) sending listing-alert emails for buildings you saved.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
Third-party services
We rely on these providers, each with its own privacy policy:
- Supabase — account, database, and authentication hosting.
- Stripe — subscription payments.
- Google — Maps and Street View imagery, Google Sign-In, and advertising measurement (Google Ads). If advertising is shown on the site, Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads.
Cookies and tracking
We use a first-party cookie/identifier to recognize returning visitors for analytics, and Google advertising tags to measure ad conversions. You can clear these in your browser at any time. We honor "Do Not Track" only insofar as our first-party analytics can be disabled by clearing site data.
Building and landlord data
Information shown about buildings — addresses, unit counts, HPD violations, and registered owners/managing agents — comes from public government records (NYC PLUTO, NYC Open Data / HPD, HUD, DHCR). It is public data and is not about you.
Your choices and rights
- Access and deletion. Email divinejdavis@gmail.com to request a copy of your data or to delete your account and associated data.
- Alert emails. Every listing-alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can toggle alerts off in your profile.
- California/other residents. We do not sell your personal information. You may request access or deletion as above.
Data retention
We keep your account data until you delete your account. Analytics events are retained in aggregate for product analysis.
Children
Find A Crib is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be noted on this page.
